Does your smile need a pick-me-up? Is it suffering from numerous cracks, chips, or stains so deep in the enamel that you can’t erase them via whitening? If so, then it’s time you come in to pay our team here at Royse City Dental Care a visit.

We’ll show you what crowns can do for your smile, your self-confidence, and how they can restore your smile to what it used to be.

Dental crowns are made from artificial materials and placed over a tooth or an implant. Crowns are popular because of the many ways they can help restore a tooth and improve your smile.

Some reasons to have a dental crown include:

-Restore a broken tooth or a tooth that has been worn down
-Cover and support a tooth with a large filling
-Protect a weak tooth from decay or a cracked tooth
-Cover a dental implant
-Cover a discolored or misshaped tooth restoring a beautiful appearance

If our dentist recommends a crown, then it’s probably because it’s the best option for your specific condition and the high success rate dental crowns provide.

To learn more about dental crowns or to schedule your appointment with Drs. Edmon R. Hutchison, please call Royse City Dental Care in Royse City, Texas, today.

Tooth enamel is designed by nature to be strong and durable enough to handle biting, chewing and grinding hard foods. Unfortunately, there are still times when an accident or oral injury can actually break, fracture or chip a tooth. So long as the internal structures of the tooth are healthy, Dr. Edmon R. Hutchison can often repair the broken tooth by replacing the enamel layer with a crown.

This is essentially a replica tooth made from either porcelain, gold or a base metal alloy. It usually takes two separate appointments to fully install a crown.

During your first appointment Dr. Edmon R. Hutchison will use a drill to remove the tooth enamel and form an abutment. This will later serve to anchor the crown in your mouth. Dr. Edmon R. Hutchison will then make an impression of the area, which will be sent to a dental lab where your new crown is made to fit your teeth perfectly.

At the end of the first appointment, Dr. Edmon R. Hutchison will secure a temporary cap over the abutment. It’s important to keep in mind that the temporary crown is not a fully functional tooth, its primary purpose is to protect the abutment.

Our office will call you back for the second appointment after the dental lab has completed your crown. The temporary crown will be carefully removed and your new permanent crown will be cemented in place.

If you have a broken, fractured, or otherwise damaged tooth, you should not delay in calling Royse City Dental Care in Royse City, Texas at 972-636-2417 to have it treated and restored.
